There are many stakeholders, at the local, national, and international level. This seminar will introduce the biology of the Great Indian Bustard and IUCN red list species in India. There will be a discussion about ex-situ versus in-situ conservation strategies, and finally I shall draw on my personal experience working on the Bustard Recovery Program where I incubated, hatched, and reared 10 of the rarest chicks in the world.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0in;"><span class="fontSizeXLarge"><strong>Biography</strong></span></p><p style="margin-left:0in;"><span style="font-size:19px;">Arjun Awasthi is an interdisciplinary researcher and a PhD candidate at the University of Southampton. His research looks at consumer demand for luxury products sourced from the illegal wildlife trade. Previously he has been a Project Associate with the Wildlife Institute of India working on the Great Indian Bustard Recovery Program. He was also a Bird Keeper at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington DC. Arjun has an avid passion for life sciences but to integrate this with social science and this has been his endeavour throughout his PhD.</span></p>"^^http://purl.org/xtypes/Fragment-XHTML
