Funded by FAH International Collaboration Award and in collaboration with University of Science and Technology Beijing , this workshop is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in translation technology and professional development to gain hands-on experience and insights from industry experts, alumni, and practitioner.</strong></p><p><strong>Workshop Highlights: </strong><br /><strong>Translation Technology Hands-on workshop:</strong><br />Join us for an insightful presentation led by Anna Mohácsi-Gorove, divided into two informative sections. In the first part, Anna will provide a comprehensive, step-by-step guide to project creation, translation, and quality assurance in MemoQ translator pro. After a short break, Anna will dive into the world of machine translation (MT), artificial intelligence (AI), and share hidden gems and tips to enhance your translation workflow.<br /><strong>Alumni Insights on Pursuing Doctoral Studies:</strong><br />Zhixin Shan, an alumnus of the MA in Translation and Professional Communication Skills, will focus on practical insights and experiences in pursuing doctoral studies in Translation Studies, specifically targeting programs in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. Zhixin will share detailed guidance on application processes, program selection strategies, and essential preparation steps. Based on personal experience, Zhixin will also provide advice on how to plan the application timeline effectively and prepare for the transition from master's to doctoral studies.<br /><strong>Practitioner Experience Sharing:</strong><br />Bianca Guarniera, an experienced translator and interpreter, will share insights from her journey in the translation industry, exploring how technology has shaped the field and the crucial role of continuous professional development in enhancing translation competence. She will briefly discuss her early experiences in the 1990s, when digital tools were emerging, and then describe how she is developing her career today by integrating new technologies, expanding her expertise, and adapting to industry trends.
